Windows Live APIs
Windows Live SDK, a component of Windows Live Platform, is a suite of APIs for programmatic access of various Windows Live services, from other web sites or applications. It allow developers to build applications and mashups using Windows Live service components.
Application programming interfaces (APIs)
Windows Live SDK currently offers the following application programming interfaces (APIs):
Microsoft adCenter API
Enable developers to create applications that create and manage Microsoft adCenter campaigns, obtain the status on advertisements, pause and resume orders, generate keyword estimates and performance reports, and perform order targeting
Live Search API
Allow developers faimiliar with Simple Object Access Protocol (SOAP) to programatically submit queries to and return results from the Live Search Engine
Windows Live Messenger SDK
Windows Live Presence API - An HTTP-based API that returns a Windows Live Messenger user's presence using JavaScript Object Notation (JSON) or an image
Windows Live Messenger IM Control - Enables web sites to show the presence of Windows Live Messenger users, and let site visitors engage in instant messaging conversations with the Messenger users
Windows Live Messenger Activity SDK - Allow developers to develop and test single-user and multi-user applications by using the Windows Live Messenger Activity object model
Windows Live Spaces MetaWeblog API
Enable external programs to get and set the text and attributes of Windows Live Spaces weblog posts. The API uses the XML-RPCprotocol for communication between client applications and the weblog server
Virtual Earth Map Control SDK
Allow developers to incorporate both location and local search features from Virtual Earth into their applications
Microsoft MapPoint Web Service
Allow developers to integrate maps, driving directions, distance calculations, proximity searches, and other location intelligence from Microsoft MapPoint into their applications
Windows Live Admin Center SDK
Enable developers to programmatically manage their Windows Live Admin Center user base by means of a Web service
Windows Live Data API
Allow developers to ask Windows Live users for permission to access Windows Live services and data on the user's behalf. Currently this service only exposes Windows Live Contacts
Windows Live Contacts API
Enable developers to programmatically submit queries to and retrieve results from the Windows Live Contacts address book database
Windows Live Expo API
Enable developers to programmatically access the Windows Live Expo classifieds listings database
Windows Live ID SDK
Provides a managed API for Windows Live ID sign-in from within desktop client applications
Windows Live Toolbar SDK
Allow developers to extend Windows Live Toolbar with custom buttons. It allow developers install publicly available buttons and create their own simple buttons
Windows Live Alerts API
Enable developers familiar with Simple Object Access Protocol (SOAP) to programmatically integrate with Windows Live Alerts notification service and perform administrative tasks
Windows Live Writer SDK
Includes two APIs that help developers to extendi the capabilities of Windows Live Writer to insert, edit, and publish new types of content
